This is a traditional recipe from Korinthos (Peloponisos). I find it delicious and I would strongly recommend it with cheese ham, or salami.
- 500gr flour
- 85gr sugar
- 15gr ammonia powder (you will find it in grocery shops or super market)
- 1/4 of fresh vanilla or 1 portion of vanilini
- 175gr ouzo
- 1/2 ts of baking soda powder
- 1/4 glass of olive oil
Mix the oil with the sugar and the vanilla in the food processor and work until well combined. In a glass dissolve the ammonia powder with the ouzo stir it in the sugar mixture and keep working. Then put spoonful of flour in the mixture (at this time use the hook tool of the food processor) and stir at high speed for about 5 minutes.
Preheat oven at 180 C. Put a greaseproof paper in a tin. Give your cookies whatever shape you want and bake them for 15-20 minutes or until the bottom is slightly brown but the top still very white.
